1951
Heinz Naumann, a graduate economist, founded the Heinz Naumann Cotton Factory in Freiburg. Production of cotton covers for upholstery and quilts began.
1972
A production facility was built at the current location (Waldmattenstr. 4) in Waldkirch. Due to technical innovations in the quilt industry, cotton covers became a by-product for Naumann. This laid the foundation for the production of quilts, mattress pads, and pillows.
1985
Dipl. Business economist Georg Naumann joins his father’s company.

1992
Mr. Georg Naumann takes over the company from his father. The company name is changed to Heinz Naumann Quilted Factory – Owner Georg Naumann. Together with his wife Elisabeth Naumann, he begins to continuously and consistently design and modify products, their manufacturing, and the production facility according to ecological and sustainable guidelines.
Naumann increasingly uses natural materials in its production, which are carefully processed both by machine and by hand. The production methods are typical of a factory. The range of natural materials used is constantly expanding. Materials from controlled organic farming (kbA) and controlled organic animal husbandry (kbT) are increasingly gaining prominence. The concept of sustainability was also further promoted in the 2000s , also with regard to the production facility.

2008
Construction and commissioning of a photovoltaic system on the roof of the production facility, which physically covers a large part of the energy costs.
2010
Removal of the oil tank and installation of an air-to-air heat pump. Further reduction in energy costs, shift away from fossil fuels, and switch to renewable energy.
2013
Certification of the Naumann quilt factory according to GOTS, Global Organic Textile Standard , by ceres GmbH

2015
Renamed Naumann Steppdeckenfabrik GmbH .
Maria Ungefuk starts as the new managing director.
2016
Purchase of a new quilting machine and optimization of production processes through restructuring. In addition, custom-made items up to approximately 270x270cm are now possible.

We offer our customers a customized range of bedding, both quilted on single-needle and multi-needle machines, as well as pillow manufacturing and custom-made products. Quilting and fillings can be customized and exclusively adapted. Each product is precisely manufactured and tested according to the specified design and specific requirements.
